purchase new Imported Vehicle or Car in
Adelaide. The Federal Government introduces sweeping reforms for motorists
and allowed parallel imports of new cars as a part of planned changes to the
Motor Vehicle Act that will go to parliament this year. The move is welcomed by
all and is likely to benefit Australia's 1.1 million car buyers, who want to
own wealthy & luxury car. Niche enthusiasts set to benefit most from the
changes that allow drivers to import new or second-hand cars and motorcycles
from foreign markets as long as they meet strict regulations for maintaining
the environment.
Regulations
for Imported Vehicle or Car in Adelaide
stipulate that cars must be right-hand-drive, less than 12 months old and have
run less than 500 kilometers on the odometer. Vehicles must be sourced from
Japan or the United Kingdom. Other right-hand-drive markets such as New
Zealand, India, and South Africa might be considered in the future. The change
takes place from 2018 if approved by the Parliament and Senate. If a
manufacturer chooses not to sell a particular model in Australia, a consumer
now has an option to source this model overseas.
Michael
Bradley, Australian Automobile Association’s chief executive, welcomes the move
on Imported Vehicle or Car in Adelaide
and says that parallel imports are "a big win for consumers and a decision
that open up choice, help put downward pressure on prices, and increase
competition within the Australian car market." Car companies, represented
by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, are "extremely
disappointed" in the government's decision. The government has not applied
parallel imports scheme to second-hand cars, siding with the car industry's
security and safety concerns. The regulations have made easier for enthusiasts
to import classic and enthusiastic vehicles from 2018 when local manufacturing
of cars has saturated.
